HERBERT R. SASS, III, MAI, SRA
Herb was raised in Charleston and graduated from The Citadel in 1976 with a degree in Business Administration. He worked in real estate sales and development until 1986, but began appraising in 1982. He joined Charleston Appraisal Services in 1984; while there, he earned the MAI and SRA designations and was senior staff appraiser. In 1992, Herb and Burk formed Sass, Herrin & Associates with four other appraisers. Herb served for 15 years on the South Carolina Real Estate Appraisers Board, 11 years as chairman. Herb was 2012 president of the South Carolina Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and has served on various boards for the Board of Realtors, chamber of Commerce, and the Town of Mt Pleasant. He was elected to Charleston County Council in 2011 and continues to serve his community.
Burk Y. Herrin, SRA
Burk was raised in nearby Summerville and attended local schools. He graduated from The Citadel in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration. He worked with the Charleston County Assessor’s Office from 1973 to 1975 and the Maritime shipping business in Charleston from 1976 to 1983. He has been a real estate appraiser since 1984 and obtained the SRA designation in 1987. He and Herb started Sass, Herrin & Associates in 1992. He served as president of the Charleston, South Carolina, Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers (1989-1990). He also holds the CRP, Certified Relocation Professional designation of the Employee Relocation Council.
Andrew B. Wilkins, MAI
Andrew is a native of Union, South Carolina and a 2001 graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Marketing. After college, he obtained his real estate appraisal license and began working at Sass, Herrin & Associates in 2002. He is a South Carolina Certified General appraiser and earned his MAI in 2015. He has experience in appraising retail, multi-family, industrial, mini-storage, office, subdivisions, large acreage tracts, conservation easements, plantations, as well as other types of properties. He has also been involved with tax appeals and real estate consultation projects.
Jennifer Cooper Perry
Jennifer is a Charleston native and graduate of the College of Charleston. She joined Sass, Herrin & Associates in 1999. She has been completing relocation appraisals since 2005 and is an FHA-Approved Appraiser. She is a South Carolina Certified Residential Appraiser.
B. Reagan Jackson, Jr.
Reagan is a Charleston native and graduate of Clemson University. He is a South Carolina Certified Residential appraiser and is FHA approved. He joined Sass, Herrin & Assoc. in 2007 and has been specializing in residential properties since then. He has experience appraising multi-family homes, investment properties, waterfront properties, acreage, and other complex residential properties.
Sarah R. Sass
Sarah is a Charleston native and graduate of the College of Charleston, receiving her BA in Communication in 2007. She joined Sass, Herrin & Associates in 2009 and is a South Carolina Licensed Appraiser and has experience appraising multi-family homes, investment properties, waterfront properties, acreage, and other complex residential properties.
Kelley Tant
Kelley was born into a military family and came to Summerville in 1979. After attending Brevard College in NC and the University of North Carolina, she settled into downtown Charleston. For the next seventeen years she built multiple food and service businesses. A massive fire caused a redirection into another career and an apprenticeship with Sass Herrin and Associates. Armed with a business degree and years around the real estate business she has found appraising a natural fit. She joined Sass, Herrin & Associates in 2016 and is a South Carolina Certified Residential Appraiser. She has experience in estate, land, legal, multi-family homes, investment properties, waterfront properties, and other complex residential properties.
