Herbert R. Sass, III, MAI, SRA- Owner

Herbert R. Sass was raised in Charleston and graduated from The Citadel in 1976 with a degree in Business Administration. He worked in real estate development and sales from 1976 to 1986 and began appraising in 1982 with Southeastern Appraisal Service. He was appointed to the FHA Fee Appraiser appraisal panel in 1983, one of the six FHA-approved appraisers for the tri-county area. He also worked for the Charleston Appraisal Service from 1984 to March, 1992. He joined Sass, Herrin and Associates, Inc., on April 1, 1992 and continues there today. He received the SRA in 1988 and his MAI in 1991. He is Chairman and Appraiser member of the South Carolina Real Estate Appraisers Board. SCCG 554.

Burk Y. Herrin, Jr., SRA - Owner

Burk Y. Herrin was raised in nearby Summerville and attended local schools. He graduated from The Citadel in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration. He worked with the Charleston County Assessors Office from 1973 to 1975 and the Maritime shipping business in Charleston from 1976 to 1983. Since 1984, he has been an real estate appraiser. He started Sass, Herrin & Associates in 1992. He serves as president of the Charleston, South Carolina, Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers (1989-1990). He also completed the Employee Relocation Council Education Module and received the SRA in 1987 and is an MAI Candidate. SCCG 39.

Charles C. Barnhill - Residential Appraiser

Charles C. Barnhill received his undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech and his Masters in Business Administration and is a retired Air Force General. He has worked with Sass, Herrin and Associates since 1992. He is a South Carolina Certified Residential Appraiser, CR 1634.

John W. Enter - Residential Appraiser

John W. Enter is a Charleston native and attended Charleston area schools, including the University of South Carolina. He worked for First Federal of Charleston as a Staff Appraiser from 1973 to 1983. Served as proprietor for John W. Enter & Associates from 1984 to 2001, and joined Sass, Herrin & Associates in 2001. He is a FHA-Approved Appraiser and a South Carolina Certified Residential Appraiser, CR 343.

Andrew B. Wilkins – Commercial/Residential Appraiser

Andrew B. Wilkins is a Union, South Carolina, native and graduated from Clemson University in Marketing in 2001. He joined Sass, Herrin & Associates in 2002. He is also a South Carolina Certified General Appraiser, CG 4333.

Jennifer Cooper Perry– Commercial/Residential Appraiser

Jennifer Cooper Perry is a Charleston native and graduate of the College of Charleston. She joined Sass, Herrin & Associates in 1999. She is a South Carolina Certified Residential Appraiser, CR 4772.

J. Follin Smith is a Charleston native and graduate of the College of Charleston. Working for the Charleston County School District from 2003 to 2004, and joining Sass, Herrin & Associates in 2005, J. Follin Smith is a FHA-Approved Appraiser and South Carolina Certified General Appraiser, CG 5314.

Josh A. Leitner – Residential Appraiser

Josh A. Leitner was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. He worked for Leitner Construction & Interior Wall Systems from 2002 to 2004, Fairway Appraisals from 2004 to 2006, and joined Sass, Herrin & Associates in 2006. He is a FHA-Approved Appraiser, and a South Carolina Certified Residential Appraiser, CR 4720.

B. Reagan Jackson, Jr. – Residential Appraiser
